What is a good point-and-shoot digital camera?
I have my eye on a Fujifilm S8000fd model, with 8.0 megapixels and 18x optical/5.1x digital/91.8 total zoom. I’m looking for cameras with 8mp or more, and also with excellent optical zoom. If there is one out there better than this one, I haven’t found it yet. I am open to considering anything “better” than this one, as long as it is not too expensive (under $500 if possible).

There are some 15x optical zooms mixed in there. You can choose to ignore them if you wish. There are several 18x and 20x ultra zooms there.
