fuji j150 digital camera
which is more worth it: a 12.1MP camera with 3.7x optical zoom or a 10MP camera with 5x optical zoom? ?
I am thinking about buying a new digital camera but i can’t decide which one i should buy. There are two cameras that I like most: one is the Canon IXUS 960IS (it is 12.1MP and has 3.7x optical zoom), the other is the Fuji Finepix J150 (it is 10MP and has 5x optical zoom).

To be honest, in a compact digital camera, the difference between 10 Mega Pixel and 12 Mega Pixel will not be noticeable. Unless you intend to print to enormous enlargement sizes, even 7 Mega Pixel is plenty!
The same sort of thing goes for the zoom. But this will depend on how you want to use the camera. If you take a lot of photos indoors and just of family etc 3.7x is plenty. However, consider that the extra 2 Mega Pixel would allow you to crop further (consider also that unless you are making enormous prints, you will be able to crop closely with either camera).
I would highly recommend going to a store which stocks both and holding them in your hands before making a decision. Both are good cameras, made by reliable companies.
