Fuji Finepix S1500- does it take good photos..?

i know its good an u can get lenses an stuff, but i wanna know if it can take good quality night and late evening photos… there are some beautiful sights like the sun setting an also the moon over water kinda stuff that i wanna be able to photograph..will this camera meet my standards? thanks

Hmmm… you can’t “get lenses an stuff” for the Fuji Finepix series because it’s a point-and-shoot camera. Therefore, the lens is very much permanent and cannot be removed. Sounds like you’re confusing it with a DSLR, which it is not.

I owned a Finepix S1500 for about 2 weeks before I returned it. It takes fine photographs, but it’s not an SLR, so it does not even come close to achieving the level of quality of cameras three or four times its price… obviously. I got a Canon Rebel XSi instead.

It’s a solid point-and-shoot. Probably the best of its kind on the market. I’m not sure what your idea of “good quality” is so I have a difficult time deciding if it up to your “standards.”

It is a nice camera and I’m sure you will get some beautiful night shots with it. I purchased it to try out after looking at reviews for weeks. From the reviews I read and the test images I saw, I decided that the Finepix produced the littlest amount of high ISO grain compared to any other point-and-shoot on the market… which I found to be true when I tested it myself. If you don’t know what I’m talking about regarding the ISO grain, then chances are you will be extremely pleased with your purchase. This camera outranks most — if not all — other cameras of its class.

I recall the Finepix taking some great videos as well.
