Which camera is better the casio exilim ex-z1200 or Fujifilm FinePix F50fd Digital?
Also which is better at taking pictures of a moving subject?
For shooting a moving subject, there are a few things need to consider:
1. To shoot a fast moving subject but still want a clear picture, you need fast shutter speed. The fastest shutter speed for both camera is 1/2000 which is decent.
2. In order to use the fastest shutter speed, you need large enough aperture to support it, both camera has the same maximum aperture.
3. When the above two conditions are equal, the next thing is ISO sensitivity, for this, Fujifilm F50fd has an advantage: it supports ISO 6400 vs. the Casio EX-Z1200 only gets ISO 1600. Though increase sensitivity will increase noise for the picture, in most cases it produces a better picture than without it, especially under dim light.
4. Both camera supports continuous shooting mode. But the F50fd definitely has an advantage: it supports 5 fps at full resolution where EX-Z1200 only at 3 fps at 3M max. This feature is crucial when you want to capture the perfect moment or smile of a little baby who will not likely to do any still post for you.
Based on the above analysis, I will choose F50fd, beside it is cheaper than EX-Z1200.
